Duterte’s new PNP Chief, Del Rosario, urges police officers who he knows are linked to drugs and crimes to either go on official leave or AWOL (absence without leave) or resign now to save themselves from sure punishment, including “shoot to kill” death (mimicking the style of his boss Duterte).
That is not the legal, effective and correct manner of solving criminality.
If Del Rosario has the evidence, as he brags, he should PROSECUTE outright these PNP scalawags.
No suspects-police officers in their right minds would follow his suggestion because to do so would be tantamount to FLIGHT, an implied admission of guilt.
Why is Del Rosario giving the suspects-police officers such a chance to fly and escape? Is it because of stupidity or incompetence? Is it because of many years of familiarization and friendship with the suspects as fraternal his brothers, fellow PNP officers, and PMA miztahs?
